This piece is about keeping your favorite place close. For this painting specifically, being by the water always brought me peace. Thankfully, I live in the "ocean state" so getting close to the water is easy. I sit, read a book, eat a meal and just soak in the sun and view. It is like my way of recharging. So, this painting is made for the viewers to make a pact to themselves... always take the time to visit a place or person that gives you a sense of comfort and safety. Recharging is important; you focus on you, the root of your mental being. The act of recharging is like the cycle of a wave. The water flows, then it reaches its peak. After it reaches its breaking point and crashes, the wave calmly flows and washes the shore away.
