This piece is inspired by my family's homeland of the Dominican Republic. I've been recently drawn to doing multiple studies on coral reefs. Coincidentally, lots of: coral, shells, and sea life glow under blacklight, which made it very fitting for the type of artwork that I do.
The piece has a short poem written on top in Spanish. The final line "el dia viene manana" is from a saying that my mom used to recite to me when I was younger - in order to ease my worries. I would hear her say in Spanish "pienselo manana" or "manana es un dia nuevo". From that, I integrated that into my poem, so that it can have the same affect to the viewer as it did to me.
